General:
The Holby Pilot 24 is a fast, dry and stable downeast style vessel that embodies quality. Holby Marine Company has been building boats for more than 20 years, continuing a deep tradition of boat building in Bristol, Rhode Island.

The Pilot 24 was designed by award winning Mark Ellis Design. Mark has created a hull that maintains its classic good looks yet performs with the best of today’s modern vessels. The Pilot 24 has a modified v-hull with wide chines; this makes for a remarkably stable, quick to plane, exceptionally smooth and dry ride. The Pilot 24 is built using the highest quality materials and hardware that the industry has to offer. The hull is constructed with hand laid fiberglass that is resin infused using SCRIMP infusion process. This process provides a strong and durable hull that is unmatched in the industry. The Pilot 24 takes classic good looks and traditional style, blending them with the best of modern technology, to create a unique vessel you can be proud to own for many years.

The Pilot 24 offers a spacious cockpit with ample seating. Plenty of storage can be found in the deck and seats. The port seat offers a livewell and the starboard side offers a built in, self draining, ice chest. The Pilot 24 interior offers plenty of space for a weekend stay. With a hidden head located to the starboard side and a freshwater sink and storage located to the port, you have the essential needs for a comfortable weekend getaway.

The economical Volvo Penta D4 260 hp diesel sips the fuel and stretches the cruising range with a quiet smooth ride. Burns approximately 8 gph at cruising speed (28 knots) and averages only 3gph overall.  Extensive engine service just completed by Volvo Penta authorized dealer (Dec. 2008) including new belts, filters, various hoses, o-rings, clamps, zincs, full winterizing of engine and outdrive. Boat is ready to go!

Walk Through:
When stepping into the cockpit, you will notice that it is a good size with comfortable depth, providing safety when not sitting down. The hinged engine box provides great access to the diesel engine, its components and the two batteries. There is a removable engine box cushion and port and starboard removable back seats. The four opening cockpit deck hatches have flush stainless steel ring pulls that also twist and secure the hatches when closed. Rod holders are located under the rails with four flush rod holders mounted on the side decks, two more in the engine box, and four welded stainless steel rocket launchers on the radar arch.

Moving forward under the stainless steel radar arch are port and starboard rear facing upholstered seats. Under the port seat is a livewell. Lift up the starboard seat and you will find a large draining ice chest/bail well. The helmsman has an adjustable pilot seat, foot rest with visibility through the windshield. The custom designed helm station folds down for easy access to the wiring. A large screen full featured Garmin chartplotter is conveniently inserted slightly below eye level and includes GPS, fishfinder and radar capabilities. A wide companion seat is located to port. Boat seat stations have large enclosed storage areas below and access hatches to the areas below the cockpit floor.

A sliding pocket door provides access to the user-friendly cabin. Double vee berths with filler are forward, with an overhead deck hatch and two opening ports for ventilation. The marine head is hidden under a lid to starboard and the sink has its own counter to port. Trim is varnished teak with a teak and holly varnished sole.

Construction/Deck:
Handsome dark blue gelcoat hull, two tone tan deck, scrimp resin infusion process with hand laid fiberglass and composite cores. All cockpit hatches have gutters with direct discharge overboard. Stainless steel pop-up cleats amidships, sturdy bow cleat and stainless steel anchor pulpit. Stainless steel bow rail, aluminum windshield with opening side vents. Hawsepipes aft lead to cleats inside the cockpit. Bilge and composite stringers are fully finished.

Stainless steel anchor pulpit, anchor locker in bow, back drop. Teak swim platform with fold away swim ladder, fresh and saltwater washdowns.

Electronics:
Garmin 3010C 10.4” chartplotter, GPS, Garmin 2kW 24nm marine radar, fishfinder with 500W transducer,  
XM marine satellite receiver, ICOM VHF, GoLight wireless remote controlled spotlight (new 2008), Aquatic stereo/CD/FM/Sirius radio, waterproof cockpit speakers.

Electrical:
Two 12 volt deep cycle batteries (new 2007); 115 AMP alternator; two electric windshield wipers with washer kit; QL marine boat trim system; electric bilge pump; 30A 110 shore power with breakers and two outlets; 30A power cable; 10A battery charger, 1000W sine wave inverter, two 12VDC sockets (helm and cabin).

Engine:
Volvo Penta D4, 260 hp diesel engine with Duoprop. Common rail direct injection and four-valve technology contribute to the 3.7-litre engine’s high performance.  The Duoprop is augmented with turbocharging with a mechanical compressor that provides high torque directly from low engine speeds. The compressor is disengaged at higher speeds and the turbo takes over to deliver high power at cruising speed and top speed.

120 gallons aluminum fuel tank. Gauges include: fuel, RPM, knotmeter, water temperature, oil pressure, voltmeter, trim tab position.  Separate Volvo Penta EVC display (new 2007) provides real time fuel consumption, trip and hour meters and all engine gauges electronically.

Fishing:
6 stainless steel rod holders, 4 stainless rocket launchers, 4 under gunwale rod holders, 15’ Taco tele outriggers with side mounts (new 2007).
