Trade Winds, a well maintained, attractive and comfortable, 1987 Newport MKIII sloop, 27 ft., made of fiberglass construction, is quite seaworthy with a 36 ft. mast, 5’2” keel and a 14 horsepower Universal diesel (M-18) with a cruising range of 400-500 miles (estimated). Trade winds cruising speed is 6 knots with a maximum speed of 9 knots. She comes with a steering wheel for easy handling. She sleeps 5-6 comfortably with a double berth up front, large aft berth and 2 single berths in the main cabin one of which can be expanded into a double, the interior headroom is 6’2’,the beam is 9’3”, has an interior range, microwave, ice box, stainless steel sink and enclosed toilet/shower and a head door with mirror. Trade Winds has a teak interior with plenty of storage, double leaf fold down table, and varnished wood exterior trim and hatch door.
Trade Winds comes with a rebuilt roller furling system (Hood), has an attractive bimini giving added cockpit sun protection for those long all day sails, a main sail with reef, and jib. She comes with a VHF radio (interior) and a second hand held, stereo system with interior speakers as well as speakers in the cockpit, a hand held GPS, knotmeter, depth sounder, 3 batteries, shore power system (5 outlets), bilge pump, boom vang, pedestal with cover and fold down table, main sail cover and 4 life jackets.
Also included (free) as a part of the sale is an inflatable dinghy -10 ft. that needs some work (Bombar) with a Johnson (2 ½ HP) engine to power the inflatable. The light weight engine (26lbs.) easily mounts on the included rail mount.
